Speech Lessons Week 6 – Chapter 11

February 11-15, 2013

Monday – Students will learn how to organize their speeches by participating in and taking notes over the lecture for Section 1 of Chapter 11, THE INTRODUCTION.  Students will learn the vocabulary for Chapter 11.

Tuesday – Students will learn how to organize their speeches by participating in and taking notes over the lecture for Section  2 of Chapter 11, THE BODY.  Students will learn the vocabulary for Chapter 11.  Students will complete the THINGS TO REMEMBER worksheet.

Wednesday – Students will learn how to organize their speeches by participating in and taking notes over the lecture for Section 3 of Chapter 11, THE CONCLUSION.  Students will learn the vocabulary for Chapter 11.  Students will complete the IMPORTANT CONCEPTS worksheet.

Thursday – Students will complete the weeks worksheets and practice outlining form by working on the Radon Threatens Schools outline and the Organizing an Outline project.

Friday – Students will complete the weeks worksheets and practice outlining form by working on the Radon Threatens Schools outline and the Organizing an Outline project.

Speech Week 5 – Chap 2

Feb 4-8, 2013

Monday – Students will finish work on their Important Concepts and Things to Remember worksheets for Chapter 2, Building Confidence.

Tuesday – The students will take notes and participate in the lecture over Chapter 2, Sec 2, Building Confidence.

Wednesday – The students will take notes and participate in the lecture over Chapter 2, Sec 3, Building Confidence.

Thursday – Students will complete the Review for the Chapter 2 Test over Building Confidence.

Friday – Students will take the Chapter 2 TEST over Building Confidence.

Speech lessons Week 4 – Chap 1/Chap 2

January 28-Feb1, 2013

Monday – Students will participate in the lecture and take notes on Section 3, of Chapter 1. They will also complete work on the the Important Concepts worksheet.

Tuesday – Students will take the Chapter 1 TEST on BUILDING RESPONSIBILITY.

WednesdayStudents will take notes and participate in the lecture over Chapter 2, Sec 1, Building Confidence and create their “Two Truths & a Lie” Speech.

Thursday – Students will give their “Two Truths & a Lie” Speech.

Friday – Students will finish giving their “Two Truths & a Lie” Speech and work on their Vocabulary Worksheets for Chapter 2, Building Confidence.

January 21-25, 2013

Monday –   Holiday

Tuesday –  Students will work on Chapter 1,  General Vocabulary and New Speech Terms for Building Responsibility.

Wednesday –  Students will listen to and take notes over Chapter 1,  Section 1 on Building Responsibility.

ThursdayStudents will listen to and take notes over Chapter 1,  Section 2 on Building Responsibility.

Friday – Students will work on the Chapter 1 worksheets – Things to Remember and Important Concepts.

Speech Lessons Week 2 – Spring 2013

January 14-18, 2013

Monday – Students will continue watching the movie “Dead Poet’s Society” and prepare for a discussion quiz over the theme and plot of the movie.

Tuesday – Students will continue watching the movie “Dead Poet’s Society” and prepare for a discussion quiz over the theme and plot of the movie.

Wednesday – Students will finish the movie,”Dead Poet’s Society” and have a round-table discussion on them, plot, and significance in their lives as teenagers.

Thursday – Students will discuss/write,  the rap/poem/song they have to create to introduce themselves to the class.

Friday – Students will begin presenting their rap/poem/song used to introduce themselves to the class.

Speech Lessons Week 1 – Intro Week Spring 2013

January 7-11, 2013

Monday –  The students will be given paperwork, assigned seating, copy the “Respect Essay” and  give their insight into how I can help them succeed in Speech class.

Tuesday –  The students will turn in their paperwork and receive classroom instructions, including a discussion on classroom rules.

Wednesday –  The students will take a Personality Test for fun. and spend some quality time getting to know each other.

Thursday –  The students will tour the trophy Hall and view the accomplishments and awards of those who have come before them.  There will be a discussion on making their mark and the legacy they will leave on White Oak and the world.

Friday –  The students will  begin watching the movie, DEAD POET’S SOCIETY .


Speech Lessons Week 16 – Informative Speech

December 10-14, 2012

Monday – The students will complete the ROUGH DRAFT on their Informative speech “An Event that Changed America.”

Tuesday – The students will complete the NOTE CARD on their Informative speech “An Event that Changed America.”

Wednesday – The students will PRESENT their Informative speeches on “An Event that Changed America.”

Thursday –  The students will PRESENT their Informative speeches on “An Event that Changed America.”

Friday  –  The students will PRESENT their Informative speeches on “An Event that Changed America.”

Monday – The students will REVIEW for the Chapter 11 Test on Organizing your Speech.

Tuesday – The students will take the Chapter 11 TEST on Organizing your Speech.

Wednesday – The students will go to the Plato Lab and research their Informative speech on events that changed America.

Thursday – The students will go to the Plato Lab and research their Informative speech on events that changed America.

Friday – The students will work on their outline for their Informative Speech.
