The Speech course will cover topics ranging from the communication process, elements of communication, speaking and listening, barriers to effective speech-making, speech strategies, voice and diction, and speech construction.

Speech Lessons Week 18 – Oral Interpretation

May 6-10, 2013

Monday – STAAR Testing.

Tuesday – Students will finish the worksheets for Chapter 19, Oral Interpretation.

Wednesday – Friday , Students will  be split into teams and develop a plan for teaching the different sections of Chapter 19, Oral Interpretation.  The students will be responsible for developing a powerpoint or some type of visual aid to help in the teaching process.

Speech Lessons Week 17 – Oral Interpretation

April 29-May 3, 2013

Monday – The students will continue delivering their Persuasive Speeches.

Tuesday – The students will finish delivering their Persuasive Speeches.

Wednesday – The students will complete the General Vocabulary and New Speech Terms worksheets for Chapter 19.

Thursday – The students will complete the Things to Remember and Important Concepts worksheets for Chapter 19.

Friday – Students will read and discuss Section 1 of Chapter 19, Oral Interpretation.

Speech Lessons Week 15 – Persuasive Speeches

April 15-19, 2013

Monday – The students will REVIEW for the Chapter 17, Persuasive Speeches TEST tomorrow.

Tuesday – The students will take the Chapter 17 TEST on Persuasive Speeches.

Wednesday – The students will go to the Plato Lab and research information for their Persuasive Speech.

Thursday –  The students will go to the Plato Lab and research information for their Persuasive Speech.

Friday – The students will begin their OUTLINES for their Persuasive Speeches.

Speech lessons Week 14 – Persuasive Speeches

April 8-12, 2013

Monday – The students will finish delivering their Informative Speeches before the class.

Tuesday – Students will take notes and participate in the lecture over Section 1, Chapter 17, Persuasive Speeches

Wednesday – Students will take notes and participate in the lecture over Section 2, Chapter 17, Persuasive Speeches

Thursday – Students will work collectively to learn the General Vocabulary, and New Speech Terms for Chapter 17, Persuasive Speeches

Friday – Students will work on the Things to Remember and Important Concepts worksheets for Chapter 17, Persuasive Speeches.

Speech lessons Week 13 – Informative Speeches

April 1 – 5, 2013

Monday – TAKS TESTING 9TH GRADE

Tuesday – TAKS TESTING 9TH GRADE

Wednesday – Students will deliver their Informative Speeches with one visual aid.

Thursday – Students will deliver their Informative Speeches with one visual aid.

Friday – Students will deliver their Informative Speeches with one visual aid.

Speech Lessons Week 12 – Informative Speech

March 25 – 29, 2013

Monday – The students will complete the Outline on their Informative Speech and begin writing their Rough Draft.

Tuesday – The students will continue writing their Rough Draft of their Informative Speech.

Wednesday – The students will begin writing their Note Card.

Thursday –  The students will finish their Note Card and practice their Informative Speech.

Friday –   Holiday

March 4 – 8, 2013

Monday- Students will finish their DEMONSTRATION speeches.

Tuesday – Students will participate in, take notes, and learn the lessons from section 1, Chapter 16 on Informative Speeches.

Wednesday – Students will complete the General Vocabulary and New Speech Term worksheets.

Thursday – Students will participate in, take notes, and learn the lessons from section 2, Chapter 16 on Informative Speeches.

Friday – Students will complete the worksheets on Things to Remember for Chapter 16.
